Created by Quinta Brunson, Abbott Elementary is a mockumentary sitcom tv that follows an optimistic second-grade teacher, Janine Teagues, in an under-funded school in Philadelphia.
With an incredible ensemble cast that includes Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Janelle James, Lisa Ann Walter, Chris Perfetti and William Stanford Davis.
The first season was nominated for seven Primetime Emmy Awards, winning three.
Originally airing on the ABC network in the US, Abbott Elementary is currently available on Disney+ internationally.

Abbott Elementary Season 3 UK Release Date
Fans of Janine, Gregory, Ava, Melissa, Barbara and Jacob will have to wait a bit longer until they appear back on our tv screens with Abbott Elementary season 3.
An incredibly popular comedy, it was renewed for a third season in January 2023 and was slated for release in Autumn 2023 in the US.
Originally, the scriptwriting for the upcoming season was scheduled to begin on May 1, 2023. However, the Writers Guild of America strike in 2023 led to an indefinite postponement of this timeline.
Brittani Nichols, one of the writers, confirmed that the strike would influence both the number of episodes and the commencement date for the third season.
In May 2023, ABC announced through a press release that the premiere of Abbott Elementary season 3 would be delayed until early 2024.

Filmed in a mockumentary style (think The Office), Willard R. Abbott Elementary School is a predominantly black public school in Philadelphia.
A documentary crew is recording the lives of teachers working in underfunded, mismanaged schools and this is one of them.
Despite dedicated teachers and really cute kids, conditions at the school are harsh and in serious need of a cash injection. Second-grade teacher Janine is determined to help her students but despite her best intentions, her attempts often backfire in the most hilarious of ways.
She works alongside equally excellent teachers who, like Janine, struggle with the lack of facilities and supplies, often resorting to unusual means to get what they need for their students.
But what makes Abbott Elementary so good is that along with its excellent satirical side-swipe at the education system, it is brimming with positivity and kindness. And, of course, there are plenty of laughs, which is exactly why it's such a great sitcom.
Where To Watch Abbott Elementary?
Given that this is an American comedy, where you can watch it around the world depends on what streaming platforms are available.
In the US, the show airs on ABC. It also streams on Hulu with next-day availability and HBO Max after each season.
In Australia and New Zealand the show was first released on Disney+ as a Star Original with a 6-episode premiere. New episodes then aired weekly.
In Europe, if your country has Disney+, you can watch the first two seasons in full right now.
Abbott Elementary season 3 will follow the same pattern. So in countries such as UK, France, Italy and Germany, it will arrive on Disney+ but only after it has first aired in the US on network TV.
In Canada, the series airs on Global, with episodes available to stream on the Global TV app the next day.
