Coming To Netflix In September 2023 – 10 Brand New Originals

I blinked and suddenly the Summer that I been waiting for was nearly over. Along the way I watched some cracking new tv shows and movies and now I'm ready for more.

So if, like me, you need some juicy new shows to get stuck into in September 2023, then you're in luck.

I've put together the most unmissable top 10 shows coming your way on Netflix. And I'm really hoping there's something for everyone on the list!

1. Happy Ending – September 1st



This is either going to be a delight or a very awkward cringefest. Luna (Gaite Jansen) and Mink (Martijn Lakemeier) are a symbiotic couple celebrating their one-year anniversary together.

Mink doesn't know that Luna has been faking her orgasms since the beginning of their relationship. When her best friends who know about her problem urge Luna to try new things in the bedroom with Mink, Luna proposes an exciting idea to him: a threesome.

No prizes for guessing that it doesn't go exactly to plan and in fact, turns Luna's life upside down.

2. Top Boy – September 7th



The critically acclaimed series, Top Boy, is to return to Netflix for one its third and final season.

Sully’s actions at the end of the last series have rewritten his business rules with Dushane.

Can they coexist by the rules of the road they’ve lived by their whole lives in a world that is changing before them? Or can there only be one Top Boy?

3. Dear Child – September 7th


Love a bit of Nordic Noir? Then Dear Child is the new Limited Series for you.

Set in Denmark, Lena lives in complete isolation in a highly secured home with the two children Hannah and Jonathan. Until she manages to escape with Hannah.

After a near fatal car accident, she is hospitalised. But the true extent of her nightmare is revealed with the arrival of Lena's parents at the hospital the same night.

They have been desperately searching for their missing daughter for almost 13 years…

4. Virgin River Season 5 – September 7th



Mel and Jack are back and this time around Mel is expecting their first child together. But we all know that life in Virgin River doesn't always run smooth.

So expect plenty of drama including new relationships, a shocking break-up, a difficult court trial and a heartbreaking goodbye.

5. Burning Body – September 8th 2023



From Spain comes Burning Body, a brand new thriller series.

It is May 2017. The charred remains of police officer Pedro (José Manuel Poga) are found inside a burnt-out car at Barcelona's Foix reservoir.

The discovery quickly leads to a network of toxic relationships, deceit, violence and sexual scandals involving Pedro and two fellow police officers: his partner Rosa (Úrsula Corberó) and her ex-boyfriend Albert (Quim Gutiérrez).

6. Love At First Sight – September 15th



If it's a romcom you want then it's a romcom you shall have with Love At First Sight.

Hadley and Oliver begin to fall in love on their flight from New York to London, but accidentally lose each other at customs.

The probability of ever finding one another again seems impossible, but fate may have a way of defying the odds.

7. Sex Education Season 4 – September 21st



Before we say goodbye to our favourite students, it's time for the last season of Sex Education.

Following the closure of Moordale Secondary, Otis and Eric now face a new frontier – their first day at Cavendish Sixth Form College.

Over in the US, Maeve is living her dream at prestigious Wallace University, being taught by cult author Thomas Molloy (Daniel Levy).

Otis is pining after her, so will they finally get together or will they simply part ways??

8. The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar – September 27th


An adaptation of the beloved Roald Dahl story about a rich man who learns about a guru who can see without using his eyes.

He then sets out to master the skill in order to cheat at gambling.

Directed by Wes Anderson, this is considered ‘a short' and runs at only 37 mins. It also strs Benedict Cumberbatch, Ralph Fiennes, Dev Patel and Richard Ayoade.

9. Love Is In The Air – September 28th



Love Is In The Air is the second big romcom of the month on Netflix. THis time around it hails from Australia and stars Delta Goodrem and Joshua Sasse.

Dana Randall is a pilot for non-profit air service, and along with her father Jeff, the small team works together to provide the essential air services the local island communities relies on.

When ITCM Financial rep William is sent to review the organisation’s financials, Dana welcomes him, aware that they rely heavily on his company’s subsidies.

What Dana doesn’t know is that William's audit is to confirm the business’s financial struggles and to prepare for its closure.

10. Nowhere – September 29th



A thriller with a unique premise, Nowhere follows Mia (Anna Castillo), a pregnant woman who, together with her husband, flees a totalitarian country hiding in a sea container.

After being forcibly separated, she must fight for her survival when a violent storm throws her into the sea.

Alone and adrift in the middle of the ocean, Mia will face every issue to save her daughter's life and reunite with her partner.
