Invasion Season 2 Release Date

The good news is that we know we are getting Invasion season 3.

We may have to wait a bit longer for it as it doesn't go into production until late February 2024.

It then takes at least 10 months and given the high level of special effects, we wouldn't be surprised if Apple TV+ held on to Invasion season 3 until early 2025.

Invasion Season 1 Recap

Before we delve into what's in store for season 2, let's take a little look at season 1.

Invasion follows a group of individuals from different parts of the world as they deal with the sudden arrival of an alien force that threatens to destroy life on Earth.

The show tells the story of the invasion in real-time, exploring the experiences of ordinary people who are caught up in the chaos and uncertainty of the situation.

There are several characters, including a small-town sheriff named John Bell Tyson (played by Sam Neill), a teacher named Amy (played by Yusra Warsama), and a family living in rural Oklahoma led by father Dave (played by Michael Huisman).

We follow them as they try to survive and make sense of the invasion. Along the way, we meet other key players, such as a soldier named Trevante (played by Shamier Anderson) who is stationed overseas and a Japanese engineer named Mitsuki (played by Shioli Kutsuna) who is working on a space mission when the aliens arrive.

As the season progresses, tensions rise and alliances are tested as the characters struggle to come to terms with the enormity of the situation.

Meanwhile, the alien forces themselves remain shrouded in mystery, leaving the characters and the audience to wonder what their true intentions might be.

Invasion Season 2 What Happens?

The final episode of season one saw many of the characters facing life-or-death situations as they tried to survive the immediate aftermath of a major attack.

Invasion season 2 picks up four months later with the the military and the World Defense Coalition struggling against the alien forces, with humans on the losing side.

This leads to the rise of “The Movement,” a resistance group with Aneesha getting involved as she tries to rescue her daughter from Project Idabel.

Mitsuki continues her efforts to communicate with the aliens, working with billionaire Nikhil Kapoor. She manages to establish direct communication with an alien, leading to quite a few revelations.

The season unfolds with plenty of intertwined narratives building to another superb finale with confrontations inside the alien mothership, and the ongoing struggle to understand and possibly coexist with the alien presence.
