Loot Season 2 – When Is The Hit Comedy Returning To Apple TV+?

Loot season 2

Loot is the hit comedy starring maya Rudolph that debuted on Apple TV in June 2022.

With a brilliantly funny ensemble cast, it follows the life of Molly Novak, who, after divorcing her husband of 20 years, must figure out what to do with her $87 billion settlement.

Fans loved it and so Apple quickly renewed the show for a second season in July 2022.

But nearly a year and a half on, we're still waiting for Loot Season 2, so when can we expect to see it on Apple TV+?

Loot Season 2 Release Date

The good news is that we know we are getting Loot season 2. The bad news is that production on the comedy was temporarily halted because of the Writers Guild strikes in the US in the Summer of 2023.

Loot was in production on its second season but back in May 2023, WGA picketers caused studio Universal Television to pause production at its Bel-Air location.

So basically that meant everything was up in the air but we have good news!!

Despite filming being pushed back, we can confirm that Loot season 2 will be released on April 3rd 2024.

How will Molly's life have changed after the revelations in the season one finale? Will she actually give away all her money? And what's going to happen with her ex???

Find out when Loot season 2 drops on April 3rd 2024.

Loot Season 1 Recap

Before we delve into what's in store for season 2, let's take a little look at season 1.

Loot features Maya Rudolph in the role of Molly Novak, a billionaire living a life of luxury. Her seemingly perfect life, however, takes a nosedive when her husband of two decades cheats on her.

Now divorced and with $87 billion in the back, her public meltdown turns her into a popular subject for tabloid gossip.

However, she unexpectedly discovers that she is the owner of a charity foundation. Managed by the straight-talking Sofia Salinas (Michaela Rodriguez), she urges Molly to curb her media scandal-creating behaviour.

With the unwavering support of her loyal assistant Nicholas (Kim Booster) and the guidance of Sofia's team – which includes the mild-mannered accountant Arthur (Nat Faxon) and her cheerful, pop-culture-obsessed cousin Howard (Ron Funches) – Molly sets off on a journey of self-discovery.

As she learns to give back to the community, she begins to realise that this altruistic act may be the key to rediscovering her true self.

Loot Season 2 What Will happen?

In the finale of Loot season 1, episode 10, titled The Silver Moon Summit, several storylines unfold.

The team arrives at The Silver Moon Summit location, and Molly provides a rundown of the activities. Tensions rise when Molly tries to run her speech by Sofia, who insists Molly shouldn't do the presentation.

Sofia criticises Molly for becoming wrapped up in a relationship and losing sight of the foundation's purpose.

During the Summit, Molly's presentation doesn't go as planned when a water purifying machine doesn't work correctly.

The mishap leads to negative press coverage, and Molly's partner Jean-Pierre leaves town, making Molly realise she's been making wrong decisions.

After a heart-to-heart with Sofia, Molly returns to the Summit and gives an impactful speech, announcing her plan to give all of her money.

After her speech, the team forms a new goal: to reduce Molly's net worth from $120 billion to zero.

And then there's THAT ending. After a night of heavy drinking, Molly wakes up the next day and the man in her bed is none other than her ex-husband, John!

So will she stay with John? Can she actually give away all of her money? Will see ever end up with Arthur who is in love with her? Is it possible for Molly to exist without her money?

Hopefully we'll find out in Loot season 2!

Where Is Loot Filmed?

Everybody wants to know if Molly's house in Loot is actually a real place?

And the answer is YES. That mega mansion is actually a Bel Air mega-mansion called “The One”. It is the largest and most expensive home in the U.S. with 105 000 square feet, 21 bedrooms, a 50-car garage and numerous other facilities.
