Two estranged childhood best friends, McCarthy and Octavia Spencer reunite after one devises a treatment that gives them powers to protect their city.

Life is not going so well for Tammy. First she gets fired, then she finds out her husband is cheating on her.

So what does she do? She packs everything up and hits the road with her profane, alcoholic grandmother, played by Susan Sarandon.
