What Is Inception About?

Inception follows Dom Cobb, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, an expert in extracting information through dreams. A powerful corporation hires him to perform a seemingly impossible task.

Instead of extracting information, he must implant an idea into the mind of a businessman named Robert Fischer Jr.

Cobb assembles a team of experts to help him in his mission, including Arthur (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), his regular partner in charge of the group's security, Eames (Tom Hardy), a skilled forger and Yusuf (Dileep Rao), a chemist who develops a powerful sedative to keep participants in deep sleep.

There is also Ariadne (Elliot Page), a talented architect who creates the world of dreams, and Saito (Ken Watanabe), the client who hired them.

They plan to perform a dream sequence within dreams to achieve the necessary depth in Fischer's mind, creating layers of dreams, each deeper than the last, allowing them to explore Fischer's subconscious on different levels.

As the plot unfolds, we discover that Cobb carries a painful and complex past. He is haunted by the memory of his wife, Mal, who haunts him in his dreams and threatens to sabotage the mission. Mal believes she is still in a dream and insists they must stay together in eternal limbo.

As the team progresses through the layers of the dream, the boundaries between reality and dream become increasingly blurred. The film ends in an ambiguous moment, leaving the final interpretation up to the viewer.
