What Is John Wick About?
The protagonist, John Wick, played by Keanu Reeves, is a former hitman who retired after meeting and falling in love with his wife. After she passes away with a terminal illness, Wick receives a beagle puppy named Daisy as a gift, per Helen's instructions, to help him deal with her death. He forms a bond with the puppy, and they spend the day driving around in his 1969 Mustang Boss 429.
But one day, in a gas station, Wick is approached by a trio of Russian gangsters led by Iosef Tarasov (played by Alfie Allen), who wants to buy his car. Wick refuses the offer and ends up being followed and attacked in his own home, where the criminals steal his car and kill Daisy. Iosef, however, was unaware that Wick was a legendary assassin.
Determined to get revenge, Wick returns to the criminal world and embarks on a search for Iosef and his gang. As Wick tracks down and eliminates Iosef's gang members, he faces several challenges and violent confrontations.
However, he also discovers that his revenge has triggered a series of events that put his life at risk, as Viggo Tarasov places a high reward on Wick's head, attracting professional killers from around the world to hunt him down.
