Netflix Comedy The Ranch Cancelled

Netflix Comedy The Ranch Cancelled

It's had a good run but after airing for four seasons, The Ranch has been canceled. The Netflix original comedy, starring Ashton Kutcher, has a massive following, but not enough it seems to keep the show afloat.

Whether or not the cast and crew knew the axe was coming is not known. However, Elisha Cuthbert posted on Instagram saying it was one of the most enjoyable experiences of her professional career.

She also indicated that the last season has already been recorded and will be shown over two parts. The first will be later this year, the second half will be early in 2020.

The show first premiered in 2016 and is filmed in front of a live studio audience. It follows Colt Bennett (Kutcher), a former semi-pro football player who returns to his family’s Colorado ranch. He ends up living and working with his older brother Rooster (Danny Masterson), his mom Maggie (Debra Winger) and his tough-as-nails dad Beau (Sam Elliott).

He also rekindles his relationship with high school sweetheart Abby (Elisha Cuthbert) and their relationship plays out across all four seasons.

The Ranch did face some controversy when main cast member, Danny Masterson was accused of multiple sexual assaults. That led to Netflix firing him with Dax Shepard (Idiocracy) coming on board for Season 3.

When the sitcom signs off in 2020 a total of 80 episodes will have aired. That makes it Netflix’s longest-running multi-camera comedy, surpassing Fuller House which will end up on 75 episodes.

If you want some really great laughs, and don't mind some R rated comedy content then you should really check out The Ranch. It's a great binge!
