Netflix took to twitter to confirm that the seventh season of the hugely successful Orange Is The New Black will be it's last. The tweet, which was accompanied by a video of the cast, was sent out on October 17th via the OITNB handle and in less than 12 hours had racked up over 1.5m views.
First airing in 2013, the show has been a massive hit, picking up Emmys and Screen Actors Guild awards. But now the women's prison-based drama will come to an end when the final season is aired in Summer 2019.

The show is set in the fictional Litchfield prison and is based on the 2010 memoir Orange Is The New Black: My Year In A Women's Prison by Piper Kerman. To date it is one of Netflix' biggest ever original series.
Undoubtedly the show will go out with a bang with Uzo Aduba, who plays ‘Crazy Eyes', saying: “It is a season you will not forget and we are going to give you everything and more that you could have ever wanted.”
The show has been praised for its portrayal of prisoners, as well as tackling issues like gender, race and sexuality and it's uniqueness will be missed!
