Reacher Season 3 Release Date – When Is It Coming To Amazon?

Reacher Season 3 Release Date – When Is It Coming To Amazon?

Many of us were already familiar with the character of Jack Reacher by the time the latest adaptation made its way to Amazon Prime Video.

For fans of the character, we had already been treated to two movies starring Tom Cruise.

First, in the 2012 action thriller which was directed by Christopher McQuarrie and then in the sequel, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, directed by Edward Zwick in 2016.

This time around, however, Reacher has been turned into a tv series developed by Nick Santora and stars Alan Ritchson as the title character.

Reacher is a drifter and former military policeman who is more than capable of holding his own against dangerous criminals throughout his travels.

The first season was based on Killing Floor, Lee Child's 1997 debut novel and it was a massive success for Amazon. It was the most streamed tv series for the week of February 7–13, 2022 becoming the first Amazon production to achieve the feat.

So let's be honest, it was always going to get a renewal! And, of course, it did – that same week.

Before season 2 even dropped, Amazon once again gave the green light for Reacher Season 3 much to the delight of fans all over the world.

So what do we know about it and when will new episodes drop?

The good news is that Reacher season 3 will be released on Amazon Prime Video in late 2024 or early 2025.

That is based on a few things. Firstly, we know that it has been filmed with the Ritchson keeping everybody up to date on his insta.

And we know that most seasons take about 8-10 months from filming to hit our screens. Given that season 1 aired in January 2022 and season 2 aired in December 2023, then it's most likely that Reacher season 3 will air at the same time of the year.

We could be lucky to get new episodes in December 2024. So a bit of a wait, but undoubtedly it will be worth it!

As always, as soon as we have any more info, we will let you know.

The good news is that we know a little more about the ins and outs of Reacher season 3, again, largely thanks to Alan Ritchson!

This time around the plot will be based on the 2003 novel Persuader.

It is the seventh book in the Jack Reacher series and follows Jack Reacher working with the Drug Enforcement Administration to bring down Zachary Beck, and retrieve another undercover DEA agent.

All the while, Reacher is out to get Francis Xavier Quinn, who, ten years earlier, had murdered Reacher's colleague Dominique Kohl.

Fast forward to the present day and Quinn is Zachary Beck's boss and Reacher wants justice.

Can he get it? Let's not mess around here – of course he does! And we're here for it!!

Reacher season 2 is be based on the eleventh novel in Child's Jack Reacher series, Bad Luck and Trouble and Alan Ritchson (Titans) is back reprising his role.

Filming for the second season started on September 23rd 2022, and ended around February 10, 2023. Though there were a couple of reshoots which added a bit more time!

It may have taken a little bit longer than most of us would have liked but at least the wait for Reacher season 2 was worth it.

Unlike other shows that have continuous seasons, each Reacher story is wrapped up in one season with little or no connection to the next.

So we didn't expect to see any of the same characters in season 2. Although Maria Stan returned as Frances Neagley. And, Malcolm Goodwin showed up to save the day again as Oscar Finlay.

The plot for season 2 follows the 110th, a group of Special investigators assembled by Reacher, as they try to figure out who is trying to kill them all.

With the elite team of ex–army investigators being hunted down one by one, it's up to Reacher to find a way to bring those responsible to justice.

And so begins the action-packed investigation into who is trying to kill them all and more importantly, why.

With a completely new story and setting, we also got a brand new cast for Reacher Season 2.

They include Shaun Sipos (Outer Range) who plays David O'Donnell, Reacher's friend from the Army unit of special investigators. He's a major player opposite Ritchson.

Serinda Swan (Coroner) also joined the cast as special investigator Karla Dixon. Ferdinand Kingsley (The Sandman) plays undercover mercenary A.M. and Rory Cochrane plays private defense contractor security head Shane Langston.

Additionally, Andres Collantes, Domenick Lombardozzi, Dean McKenzie, Luke Bilyk, Shannon Kook-Chun, Edsson Morales and Ty Victor Olsson also star in Season 2 in supporting roles.

There are 8 episodes in Season 1 of this action drama, and each runs at around 50 minutes.

  • Welcome to Margrave
  • First Dance
  • Spoonful
  • In A Tree
  • No Apologies
  • Papier
  • Reacher Said Nothing
  • Pie

So far, we know that there are going to be three seasons of Reacher. The good news is that if season 3 goes as well as the first and second seasons, Amazon will definitely renew it again.

After all, how many seasons of Bosch are there! They know when they're on to a good thing.

Plus the Lee Child series includes 26 books and the author himself appears quite keen to keep the show going for as long as possible.

Speaking to the Radio Times he said: “Nothing is ever certain but they're going to love it I think, and when you've got a series that people love, why not do a second season? Why not do a third? Why not do a 27th?

“By that time I’ll have written some more. It could go on forever, literally to the heat death of the universe.”

If the audience figures stay high, then we will almost certainly get a season 4. Of course, that hasn't been confirmed but it is likely.
