How Many Seasons Does And Just Like That Have?
And Just Like That began development in December 2020, following the cancellation of a third film adaptation. The series premiered in December 2021 with one season of 10 episodes.
Despite initially being advertised as a mini-series, And Just Like That was renewed for a second season in March 2022. Currently, there is no specific premiere date yet.
Why Is Samantha Not In And Just Like That?
Although she was a central figure in the series, actress Kim Cattrall decided it was time to leave her role as Samantha Jones, even as a third film was being written. She said in an interview, “It is great wisdom to know when enough is enough”.
Still, in 2017, in an interview, the actress said she would never play Samantha again. She explained that the refusal for a third film happened because she wanted to take a step towards a new chapter in her life and that doing this new series wouldn't make any sense either.
Kim Cattrall also spoke about her relationship with the franchise's lead actress, Sarah Jessica Parker, reaffirming the incompatability between the two and showing the influence of this friction on her work.
In addition to personal issues, professional ones also played a part when the actress confirmed her dissatisfaction with her salary.
Despite being one of the show's most beloved and powerful characters, the directors found a way to overcome this absence. The truth is that many fans felt her disappearance and considered that the series didn't have the same impact without the unique Samantha.
