Chelsea Peretti played Gina Linetti for six seasons before she was suddenly cut from the show.
Gina was a civilian administrator for the 99th Precinct, known for weird antics, sarcastic comments, and working as hard as she could to avoid working hard.
While she often seemed rude, she was intelligent and efficient when needed, which made much of the show's cast, and the audience genuinely love the character.
In season six, the episode “Four Movements” acted as her farewell exit. Gina decides to leave the police station, realising that her talents would be better used elsewhere, like being an online celebrity.
While her colleagues were sad to see her go, they supported her choice and happily sent her on her way.

However, she emphasised that she is close friends with the series creator Dan Goor and co-star and producer Andy Samberg, adding that the split was mutual and friendly.
