What Is Gravity Falls About?

Dipper and Mabel Pines are two twin brothers who are sent to their great-uncle Stan's farm in the rural and mysterious woods of Gravity Falls, Oregon.

They think their holiday will be bland until they notice that there might be far more adventurous than expected.

When they're not snooping around Stan's trinket shop, The Mystery Shack, a tourist trap that charges unlucky visitors for a glimpse of a museum that is the world's most bizarre, they head into the forest to explore their new surroundings.

When Dipper discovers an old diary containing cryptic keys to the town's mysteries and its motley collection of residents, he and his sister set off to find out what lies behind the strange happenings.

They begin to realise that several secrets are thinly veiled in the town, full of paranormal incidents and supernatural creatures.

Did Gravity Falls Win Awards?

Gravity Falls was an extremely successful series, ranking at the top of the most-watched category.

In addition to highly positive reviews, the show has won over ten awards, including two Emmy Awards, three Annie Awards and a BAFTA Children's Award, among many other wins and over forty nominations in several categories over the years.

During its run, Gravity Falls achieved high ratings among children, teens and young adults and was Disney XD's highest-rated show, with multiple rating records for the network.

In addition, the series attracted a large and passionate fan audience. They were considered an influence on many animated programs that followed, as well as spawned a variety of official merchandise.

What Age Is Appropriate To Watch Gravity Falls?

Gravity Falls is a humorous cartoon series that older children and pre-teens will enjoy more than young children due to its rapid rhythm and content that often assumes a certain life experience on the part of those watching.

The generally scary feel of many scenes and the characters' encounters with monsters and supernatural beings in many forms may be too much for children who are sensitive to that kind of scare.

On the other hand, the complicated and flawed sibling dynamic between the two brothers always ends in a declaration of their affection for each other, with several demonstrations of the importance of family.

Although it is entirely the parents' responsibility what kind of content they allow their children to watch, we recommend this series for slightly more mature children, from eight years old.
