What Is Inside Job About?

Tech genius Reagan Ridley (Lizzy Caplan) leads a team at Cognito, Inc, a shadow government organisation that is one of six world-controlling organisations between the Illuminati, the Atlanteans, the Reptoids, the Catholic Church and the Juggalos.

This company is overseen by dark lords and responsible for some of the world's greatest conspiracies, including the assassination of JFK, reptilian shapeshifters, the flat Earth, the Moon landing and the Mandela effect.

For Deep State officials, conspiracies are not just theories, they are facts. And keeping them secret is a full-time job.

This peculiar team is then led by Reagan, a brilliant but socially awkward and short-tempered robotics engineer. She tries to follow in the footsteps of her father, Randy (Christian Slater), the former CEO and co-founder of Cognito Inc, who was dismissed after nearly exposing the Deep State and trying to blow up the sun as its solution to curing skin cancer.

They live together, and the paranoid father spends his days drinking copious amounts of alcohol and plotting revenge against his former employers.

When her boss J.R. decides to promote her alongside the affable Brett Hand (Clark Duke), a fraternity boy who is actually a sensitive and caring person who wants his colleagues to follow in his footsteps and strives to bring out the best in his friends and colleagues, she resents having to work with him.

But Reagan is still committed to proving that she is the brightest and can still keep up the global subterfuge. From complex cover-ups to secret societies, playing a role in the office culture at Cognito Inc. can be tricky.

Yet Reagan believes she can make a difference in a better world if she can manage her unbalanced father and her irresponsible co-workers and finally get the promotion she's been dreaming of.

Characters In Inside Job

Alongside Reagan in this unique team is Gigi Thompson (Tisha Campbell), a public relations officer and the head of media manipulation, who is also the office's gossip queen.

Glenn Dolphman (John DiMaggio), a military linguistic advisor and head of Cognito's arsenal, who volunteered for a failed supersoldier experiment and turned into a human-golf hybrid.

Dr Andre Lee (Bobby Lee) is an anxious free-spirited biochemist who experiments with unusual narcotics and is addicted to some of the narcotics he creates.

Plus, Myc Celium (Brett Gelman) a psychic mushroom with a dry, sarcastic demeanour and the ability to read people's minds. Myc also provides a chemical the company uses for its memory rubber guns, which they have to literally milk.

Was Inside Job Cancelled?

Yes. The first season of Inside Job was released in two parts in October 2021 and November 2022, with 18 episodes.

Inside Job is a satirical comic series that manages to cross several different genres and uses its unique animation style to tease out conspiracy theories and workplace comedy, suggesting that there may be some truth to the idea that dark elites control the world.

Although it has a satirical side, it also manages to address some of today's most pressing social issues.

Despite having a high approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and fans worldwide, this was not enough for the series to move forward on Netflix, even after the second season was announced in June 2022.

In January 2023, creator and screenwriter Shion Takeuchi turned to Twitter to share the news of the series' cancellation. They took the opportunity to thank fans for all their support, who were also disappointed by the show's termination.

The reasons for the show's cancellation are still unknown.
