Why Was Longmire Cancelled?
Longmire is a magnificent drama, incredibly well written and acted. The characters are believable, memorable and exceptionally well-performed.
Despite Longmire being an acclaimed series by fans, it was initially cancelled after the third season. Netflix ended up rescuing the show and produced three more seasons.
The announcement of the sixth season being the final one took some people by surprise. One explanation for the cancellation is that the audiences have fallen slightly in the last seasons.
Another is that the series was produced by an external studio, which meant it was not as profitable for the network.
On the other hand, the series took its course and ended with a natural and meaningful ending. Whatever the reason, Longmire has still given us six seasons that you will want to watch from start to finish.

Crime is the series' focus, so you can expect to see dead bodies, casualties, unpleasant situations, and some blood.
Most of the storylines are adult-oriented, with the main character recently widowed and career competition as a significant narrative thread.
It has some language deemed less appropriate and crude references to sex. However, mature teenagers with a propensity for western can enjoy the drama.

Walter Longmire's log cabin is the most iconic Longmire location at Valles Caldera National Preserve on the New Mexico Highway, west of Los Alamos.
