They form the Umbrella Academy, a team that fights crime and evil using their special abilities.

Hargreaves assigned numbers to each of his children until mother-robot Grace decides to name them. The members of the Umbrella Academy are Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Number Five, Ben and Vanya. Each of them possesses unique powers but also has their own weaknesses and personal problems.

Each of the siblings grows up with a different trauma caused by their father, and as the years go by, the family grows apart. After the team's dissolution, the members reunite again following Sir Reginald's death.

They must work together to stop the imminent apocalypse, which is triggered by Number Five, who goes back in time to warn them of the danger.

In addition, Five is being pursued by a group of time travellers and, together with his brothers, the family will have to discover what secrets their father was keeping.
