What Is The Umbrella Academy About?

In October 1989, despite not appearing to be pregnant, 43 women gave birth at the same time around the world.

Thus, the plot revolves around a group of seven young people, born in these unexpected and unrelated pregnancies, who were adopted by an eccentric millionaire, Sir Reginald Hargreeves, to become superheroes.

They form the Umbrella Academy, a team that fights crime and evil using their special abilities.

Hargreaves assigned numbers to each of his children until mother-robot Grace decides to name them. The members of the Umbrella Academy are Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Number Five, Ben and Vanya. Each of them possesses unique powers but also has their own weaknesses and personal problems.

Each of the siblings grows up with a different trauma caused by their father, and as the years go by, the family grows apart. After the team's dissolution, the members reunite again following Sir Reginald's death.

They must work together to stop the imminent apocalypse, which is triggered by Number Five, who goes back in time to warn them of the danger.

In addition, Five is being pursued by a group of time travellers and, together with his brothers, the family will have to discover what secrets their father was keeping.

How Many Seasons Does The Umbrella Academy Have?

The Umbrella Academy premiered in February 2019, with one season of ten episodes.

The series was renewed for a second season in April of the same year, released in July 2020.

In November, Netflix renewed the show for a third season, which aired in June 2022, with ten more episodes.

So far, The Umbrella Academy has three seasons with a total of 30 episodes. A fourth and final season has already been confirmed, with no official release date yet.
