The Terminal List Season 2 When Is It Coming To Amazon?

Chris Pratt brought all the action when The Terminal List dropped on Amazon Prime Video in July 2022.

Despite its overwhelming success on the streaming platform, it took until February 2023 for the show to get the green light for a renewal.

But now that we know James Reece will be returning to our screens, the big question is, The Terminal List season 2 – when is it coming to Amazon???

The Terminal List Season 2 Release Date

Given that Amazon Studios renewed The Terminal List in February 2023, we are not expecting season two this year.

Filming for the first eight episodes took just over six months, beginning in May 2021 and ending in November 2021. It then took another seven months to get it to our screens.

So on the basis that work on The Terminal List season 2 hasn't even been finalised, we won't be seeing it until 2024.

Realistically, any season of any show generally takes a year to make! Throw in a major writers and actors strike in the US and you have a huge delay in almost every production coming out of the country. And that includes The Terminal List.

We also know that Amazon Prime Video has ordered an untitled prequel series focusing on fan favourite Ben Edwards, played by Taylor Kitsch.

That show will follow Edwards' journey from Navy SEAL to CIA operative. So we have two great shows in the pipeline which is better than nothing, even if we do have to wait much longer than normal to see them.

Until then, there are tonnes of other great action thrillers that you can get stuck into – check out some of the great ones here.

The Terminal List Recap

The Terminal List Season 1 was based on the book of the same name, the debut novel of Navy SEAL-turned-author Jack Carr.

It follows a SEAL commander named James Reece (Chris Pratt) who, after he is involved in a mission that goes wrong, discovers a military conspiracy that goes all the way to the top.

Now he's out for revenge on the people responsible for the deaths of the men of his unit. But can he outwit, out-fight and outlast those that want him dead?

Clearly, he does because we are getting The Terminal List season 2, but how he does it is what makes this show so great.

The Terminal List Season 2 What Happens?

We know that Chris Pratt is back as James Reece, but we also know that there will be more to season 2 for one very good reason.

Jack Carr, the writer, said that the hard work of appearing in almost every action-packed scene “almost killed” Chris Pratt.

So he has worked in a couple of subplots to take the pressure off him in the next season.

We know the book the second season will be based on is True Believer which is the follow-up book in the series.

We left James Reece on a sailboat in the middle of the Atlantic, headed for an off-the-grid life after going rogue.

After an exciting interlude fighting poachers, Reece is lured back into the field by an old SEAL pal, Freddy Strain, who now works for the CIA.

A series of terrorist attacks have rocked the country so in exchange for Reece helping to stop them, Strain promises the government will pardon his past actions.

But of course, nothing is ever that straightforward!

The Terminal List Spin-Off Show

For those of you who missed the announcement, not only was The Terminal List season 2 confirmed, but also a spin-off prequel following Taylor Kitch's character – Ben Edwards.

The show will take us even deeper into Carr's gripping world of military suspense as Ben makes the transition from Navy SEAL to ground branch CIA officer.

That series is still in pre-production and hasn't started filming yet. However, we do know that Chris Pratt will also make an appearance, so it looks like a very busy 12 months for both of them!
