To All The Boys I've Loved Before was one of Netflix's biggest hits in 2018. Starring Lana Condor as Lara-Jean, the movie was based on the best-selling YA novel by Jenny Han. But fans of the books would have been aware that Han continued the story through two more books and that's where To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You picks up.
At the end of the first movie, Lara-Jean and Peter Kavinsky got together and fans rejoiced. However, it did have a little twist/cliff hanger in that one of the other boys who received a letter from Lara-Jean unexpectedly turned up at her door. That character is called John Ambrose and he will have a lot to do in the sequel. The eagle-eyed among you may have already picked up on the fact that the John Ambrose who arrives at the door at the end of the first movie, is not the same John Ambrose in the second one.
Despite the re-cast, most of the story revolves around him. That's because Jenny Han admitted that the whole reason she wrote the second book was for the character of John Ambrose McClaren, who is a fan favorite. He will be played by Jordan Fisher who many will know from his win on Dancing With The Stars.
Netflix has already penciled in February 12th, 2020 as the date it will stream and while the story should stay relatively true to the books there are some production changes. The first movie was directed by Susan Johnson but this time around the honour goes to Michael Fimognari. He was the cinematographer on the first movie and To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You marks his directorial debut.
So what can we expect from To All The Boys: P.S. I Love You? The movie starts with Lara-Jean and Peter (Noah Centineo) no longer pretending to be a couple. They are now officially a couple. But with real love comes real problems and a whole new set of complex emotions. So Lara-Jean must navigate the trials and tribulations of being in a relationship but with the added pressure of possibly loving two boys at the same time!!
Who will it be? Can Peter hold on to Lara-Jean or will John Ambrose sweep her off her feet? We will just have to wait until February 2020 to find out. No matter what happens, we can confirm that there will be a third movie, which is currently in post-production, so maybe we will get the happily ever after we are all waiting for.
