Directed by Jason Reitman, Ghostbusters: Afterlife is a supernatural comedy. The fourth film in the franchise, it is the sequel to Ghostbusters (1984) and Ghostbusters II (1989).
When Egon Spengler dies, he leaves his house to his estranged daughter Callie (Carrie Coon). A single mom, broke and with few options, she moves her two children into the run-down house out in the middle of nowhere.
With her awkward teenage son Trevor (Finn Wolfhard) and misfit daughter Phoebe (Mckenna Grace), the family must try to fit into their new surroundings. Except the ground is shaking for no reason, there are spooky goings on at the abandoned mine, and there's a good chance that their new home is haunted.
With the help of her science teacher Gary (Paul Rudd) and friend Podcast (Logan Kim), Phoebe learns all about the Ghostbusters and her grandfather.
But when they accidentally release a sentinel, they must scramble to repair the Ghostbusters equipment and stop the town from being destroyed.

United States: There is only one option for watching Ghostbusters Afterlife for free in the US and that is on Starz, if you have a subscription.
You can't even rent it anywhere and the only other option is to buy it on the likes of Apple TV+, Amazon, Google Play or Redbox.
United Kingdom: Good news for those of you in the UK. You can watch it on Netflix if you have a subscription. While the classic version of the movie isn't available, you can watch Ghostbusters: Answer The Call, starring Melissa McCarthy on Netflix UK also. This is similar in some ways to the way some players prefer to play the classic version of Blackjack online, while others might look for alternative versions.
Otherwise, the only other option is to buy it on Apple TV+, Chili, Amazon or Rakuten TV.
Canada: Canadians have the best option so far as Ghostbusters Afterlife is included on Amazon Prime tv. So if you subscribe you can watch it for free.

Where Was Ghostbusters Afterlife Filmed?
Ghostbusters Afterlife was filmed in both Canada and America.
The street scenes were filmed in Fort MacLeod, Alberta, with Dorothy, Alberta used for the Summerland grain elevator and yellow bridge.
Beiseker, Alberta was where Spinner's Burgers & Shakes is located. And Del Bonita, Alberta is the ghost town the family drives past en route to Summerville.
The interior of the Ghostbusters Headquarters was filmed Fire Station 23 – 225 in Los Angeles, California. Other places used in California include Red Rock Canyon State Park and Cantil.

Harold Ramis posthumously appears as Egon Spengler in archival clips and photographs taken from Ghostbusters (1984). The production team also used a body double and CGI to bring Egon Spengler into the movie without replacing him with another actor.

Why Wasn't Rick Moranis In Ghostbusters Afterlife
Given how many of the old Ghostbusters faces made an appearance in the 2021 sequel, it was a surprise to many when Rick Moranis didn't show up on screen.
There's a reason for that. He didn't want to.
He now focuses his time on writing and voice acting and was apparently disappointed in Ghostbusters 2.
Moranis also turned down Paul Feig's 2016 reboot Ghostbusters (the one with Melissa McCarthy), saying that it didn't make sense to him to “do just one day of shooting on something I did 30 years ago.”
