Where Can I Watch The Little Mermaid – On Netflix or Disney+?

The Little Mermaid has been and gone from the cinema, grossing over $542 million at the box office. But if you didn't catch it the first time around, you're probably wondering where you can watch it?

I have good and bad news, sadly The Little Mermaid will not be appearing on Netflix anytime soon. However, the good news is that the live action feature will be available to stream on Disney+.

The story captivated audiences with its tale of Ariel (Halle Bailey), a vivacious and adventurous young mermaid who yearns for life beyond her underwater kingdom. And now it's coming to a tv screen near you!

If you're not already a Disney+ subscriber, now is the perfect time to sign up. In addition to The Little Mermaid, Disney+ has an impressive lineup of original content, including shows like The Mandalorian and fantastic animated movies such as Encanto.

So mark your calendars now and get ready to see Ariel sing her way into your heart!

Watch The Little Mermaid For Free?

I would not advise anyone to use illegal streams. Instead, you can sign up for Disney+ for a small initial fee and then cancel before you are charged for the month following.

This will give you access to The Little Mermaid and all the other great content that Disney+ has to offer.

Officially, The Little Mermaid will begin streaming on Disney+ on September 6th 2023.

Occasionally, Disney+ opens up its streaming service for free. This has happened a few times since the service launched, like when they allowed non-subscribers to watch FREE GUY (21 Sept 2021) so it's worth keeping an eye out for.

If a free day/weekend is announced, be sure to sign up and take advantage of it!

What Is The Little Mermaid About?

The Little Mermaid follows the story of Ariel, an adventurous young mermaid who yearns for more out of her life.

As the most daring among King Triton's (Javier Bardem) daughters, Ariel is captivated by the world above the waves.

During one of her clandestine trips to the surface, she becomes enamoured with the charming Prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King).

Despite cultural taboos that forbid mermaids from engaging with humans, Ariel decides to pursue her feelings.

She strikes a precarious bargain with Ursula (Melissa McCarthy), the malevolent sea witch, in order to experience terrestrial life.

However, this risky agreement not only jeopardises her own existence but also threatens her father's reign.

More Disney+ Movies?

Disney Plus has an impressive lineup of original content, along with brilliant Disney movies, you'll also get access to the Pixar catalogue (Luca, Coco, Inside Out and Toy Story).

It also includes the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Loki, WandaVision, Black Widow etc…) and not forgetting all the Star Wars movies and series including the latest big hitter, Ahsoka.

Subscribers outside the U.S. also benefit from content which is normally only seen on HULU.

Recently shows like Welcome to Wrexham, The Bear and Will Trent became available for non-US viewers. Arguably making the streaming service a better deal for those not in the States.

They have something for everyone in the family! If you're not already a Disney+ subscriber, now is the perfect time to sign up.

You can cancel anytime so there's no risk, and you'll be able to watch The Little Mermaid!
