John Oliver vs Adam Driver
John Oliver and Adam Driver have a friendly banter that has been going on for years. It started when the comedian joked on his Last Week Tonight show that he wanted Adam to “Demolish me, you unwieldy boulder.”
The comment came as Oliver was talking about the Indian Prime Minister who had walked out of an interview. In the same week, Adam Driver walked out of an interview with NPR.
Oliver claimed it was perfectly acceptable for the actor to walk away as “Adam Driver can do whatever the f**k he wants.” then added, “Step on my throat, Adam Driver, you rudely large man,” he said. “Break my fingers, you brooding mountain.”
The increasingly bizarre sexual references from John Oliver culminated with Adam Driver finally appearing on the show as Oliver was halfway through a request for Adam Driver to crush his larynx.
“What the f**k are you doing?” The actor demanded sternly, his gaze unwavering as he stared into Oliver's eyes through the camera lens. “This bit. This thing that you've been doing that's either sexual or violent. What's wrong with you? You realise we're strangers, right?”
Eventually, after further reprimanding Oliver and labelling him a “deeply weird, small, small thing,” the actor finally managed to secure an apology. It was, of course, a joke – and an exceedingly long-running one at that.
Adam Driver is an actor whose star continues to rise. With Netflix movies like White Noise, Adam Driver is sure to attract more fans by showcasing his amazing acting.
