If ever there was a movie that could boast an all-star cast, then it's Dune (2021).
Directed by Denis Villeneuve, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Spaihts and Eric Rothepic, Dune is an epic sci-fi film based on the 1965 novel by Frank Herbert. At least the first movie is. The sequel to complete the adaptation is on the way in 2023.
With the likes of Timothée Chalamet, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, David Dastmalchian, Jason Momoa, and Javier Bardem all in the film, it's easy to see why it was such a massive hit.
Made with a production budget of $165m, it took over $400m at the box office worldwide. It was the 12 highest-grossing film of 2021, and that's despite being released on HBO Max on the same day in the United States!

What Is Dune About?
As mentioned above, Dune is based on the 1965 science fiction novel by Frank Herbert.
Set in the very, very, very distant future, it tells the story of Paul Atreides. Atreides is a gifted young man who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to keep his people safe.
Fighting has broken out over the planet's exclusive supply of a precious resource. That resource is called ‘spice', and it is a valuable psychotropic drug that gives vitality and heightened awareness to its users.
Atreides is already powerful, but when he is exposed to the spice, it triggers intense premonitions about the future of humanity.
There is a Holy War coming, and only Atreides can stop it. Or can he? Watch Dune to find out.
When Is Dune Part 2 Coming Out?
Dune part two will pick up where the first film ended. With the same cast returning, the story of Paul Atreies continues in line with the book it is based on.
Atreides becomes the Messiah of nomads on the desert planet but what price will he pay to become the new ruler of their universe?
We do have to wait a little bit longer but we know that Dune Part Two will be released on November 3rd 2023.
