Is Free Guy On Netflix? Discover Where To Stream It TODAY

Free Guy is a 2021 action comedy film directed and produced by Shawn Levy from a screenplay by Matt Lieberman and Zak Penn.

If you don't know the story of Free Guy, it stars Ryan Reynolds as a bank teller who discovers that he is a non-player character in a massively multiplayer online game.

He then partners with a real-life player to find evidence that a gaming company's CEO stole the player's game's source code.

It's brilliantly funny and also stars Jodie Comer, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Joe Keery, and Taika Waititi.

Where To Watch Free Guy – Is It On Netflix?

I have good and bad news. Sadly Free Guy will not be appearing on Netflix anytime soon.

However, the good news is that it is available to stream on Disney+.

In fact, it doesn't matter what country you are in; if you have DISNEY+, that's where you will be able to watch Free Guy!

If you're not already a Disney+ subscriber, now is the perfect time to sign up. In addition to Free Guy, Disney+ has an impressive lineup of original content.

Not only is it home to all of the Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar content, but you can also watch hit US shows like Big Sky, The Old Man, NCIS and Criminal Minds, to name just a few.

And if it's more Ryan Reynolds you want on Disney+ you can also watch his documentary Welcome to Wrexham as well as hit romcom The Proposal and the iconic Deadpool movies.

Watch Free Guy For Free?

I would not advise anyone to use illegal streams. Instead, you can sign up for Disney+ for a small initial fee and then cancel before you are charged for the month following.

This will give you access to Free Guy and all the other great content that Disney+ has to offer.

Occasionally, Disney+ opens up its streaming service for free. This has happened a few times since the service launched, like when they allowed non-subscribers to watch FREE GUY (21 Sept 2021) so it's worth keeping an eye out for.

If a free day/weekend is announced, be sure to sign up and take advantage of it!

What Is Free Guy About?

Free City is a massively multiplayer online role-playing video game (MMORPG) developed by Soonami Studios. The players of the game are distinguished from NPCs by the sunglasses they wear, fighting each other, and causing mayhem.

Unaware that the world they live in is a video game, the NPCs live out their scripted lives, unfazed by the chaos around them.

Guy (Reynolds) is a non-player character (NPC), and he is a teller at Free City's bank. In the real world, Millie (Jodie Comer) is an unemployed software developer who is playing the game to find proof that Soonami stole the source code from the game she developed.

After Millie's avatar “MolotovGirl” catches his attention, Guy begins to deviate from his programming and meets Millie, where they attempt to steal evidence leading to her source code.

So can they prove the code was stolen? Or will Soonami shut the game and end the life that Guy has discovered? Find out in Free Guy.

Where Was Free Guy Filmed?

Almost all of Free Guy was filmed in Massachusetts, USA. The vast majority of it was filmed in Boston, around the city's Financial District.

The exterior of the bank is located at Liberty Square, with the street scenes filmed at Post Office Square.

The ice cream scene was shot at Fan Pier Park, and the beach scenes were on location at Revere Beach.

Antwan's office was filmed in the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel. And lastly, a few scenes were filmed at the Paramount Pictures studio headquarters in Los Angeles, California.
