Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny has left cinemas around the world so now we turn our attention to the streaming services!

At the moment you will have to RENT or PURCHASE it.

For example, in the United Kingdom you can only buy Indiana Jones 5 on either Amazon Video or Apple TV+. It will set you back £9.99. So if that's a little too rich for your blood, give it a couple of weeks and it will be available to rent for half the price.

And if, after all that, you still don't want to part with any extra cash, then we have good news for you.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is a DISNEY movie and it WILL BE COMING TO DISNEY+.

It has been announced that the film will arrive on Disney+ on December 1st in the US. Given that details about other countries was not made clear, we're going to assume it is December 1st 2023 everywhere.

What Is Indian Jones 5 About?

The story opens in 1944 where Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford, Shrinking) and Oxford archeologist Basil Shaw (Toby Jones) are captured by Nazis in the French Alps.

After a daring escape on a Berlin-bound train filled with looted antiquities, Indy frees Basil and acquires half of the Dial of Destiny.

Fast forward to 1969, an elderly Indiana Jones is preparing for retirement from Hunter College in New York City.

Out of the blue, Indy's goddaughter and archeologist, Helena Shaw (Phoebe Waller-Bridge), arrives with a request to research the Dial.

Indy warns her about the dangers and obsession that consumed her late father, Basil, yet he retrieves the half-Dial from the college archives.

With twists and turns, Indy loses the dial and is framed for the murder of two colleagues.

Fleeing New York, Indy heads to Tangier to find Helena and the second half of the dial, all while avoiding the CIA and Voller's (Mads Mikkelsen) henchmen.

How Many Movies In The Indiana Jones Franchise?

Prior to Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, there were four other movies in the franchise.

Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)

Indiana Jones, a daring archaeologist, embarks on a quest to find the biblical Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis can get their hands on it.

With the help of his ex Marion Ravenwood and his friend Sallah, Indy faces numerous dangers.

They included deadly traps, treacherous terrain, and ruthless enemies, as he races to secure this powerful artefact.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984)

Set before the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark, this film finds Indy in India.

He becomes embroiled in a mission to rescue enslaved children and recover sacred stones stolen by a malevolent cult.

Along with his companions Short Round and nightclub singer Willie Scott, Indiana confronts dark rituals and dangerous foes in the Temple of Doom.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)

Indy teams up with his estranged father, Henry Jones Sr., to find the Holy Grail before the Nazis can use it for their evil plans.

The journey takes them across Europe and into the heart of enemy territory, facing both external dangers and their own unresolved family issues.

Sean Connery stars as Indy's father, adding a new layer of depth to the series.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)

In this installment set during the Cold War, Indy battles Soviet agents led by the ruthless Irina Spalko.

The Soviets are after a mysterious artefact known as the Crystal Skull, which is said to have otherworldly powers.

Alongside him are his former love Marion Ravenwood and a young man named Mutt Williams, later revealed to be his son.

Why Is Shia LaBeouf Not In Indiana Jones 5?

In the fourth movie, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Indiana Jones learned that Mutt Williams (Shia LaBeouf) was actually his son.

Despite a rocky start, the two looked like they would be able to mend fences and move on with their lives.

So the big question is why is Shia LaBeouf is not in the Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny?

Well, it all comes down to remarks LaBeouf made about the last movie. All the way back in 2010, in an interview with the LA Times, LaBeouf said that the movie wasn't up to standard.

He told the newspaper, “I feel like I dropped the ball on the legacy that people loved and cherished.”

Those remarks, coupled with allegations about abuse in his personal life, are more or less the reason he wasn't asked back.

His character's omission from the film is explained with Mutt having died in the Vietnam War.
