How Many Jumanji Movies Are There?
It might surprise you to know that there are actually four movies in the Jumanji film series to date. The first one, simply titled “Jumanj,” was released in 1995 and starred Robin Williams and Kirsten Dunst.
The second movie, The Zathura: A Space Adventure was released in 2005 and starred Josh Hutcherson, Jonah Bobo, and Dax Shepard. However, this film is not considered part of the main Jumanji film series.
The third movie, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was released in 2017 and starred Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan.
The fourth movie, Jumanji: The Next Level was released in 2019 and also starred in the same cast as the previous installment.
Jumanji 4 (the 5th Franchise Movie)
The fifth film in the Jumanji film series is currently in development. This film will be a direct sequel to 2019's Jumanji: The Next Level, and is still in the very early stages of development.
Filming has yet to start, but cast members Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black are all reprising their roles from the previous film.
The film is being written by Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg, who also wrote the first three Jumanji films. There is no official title for the film yet, but it's expected to be announced soon.
