What Is Jurassic World About?

Twenty-two years after John Hammond envisioned a theme park full of dinosaurs, Jurassic World in Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park.

Brothers Zach (Nick Robinson) and Gray Mitchell (Ty Simpkins) visit Jurassic World, in which their aunt Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) is the operations manager.

Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) is training four velociraptors, but when he goes to an isolated paddock to evaluate the new attraction of the park, the hybrid dinosaur Indominus Rex, it kills two men and flees.

With the killer Indominus Rex on the loose and an evacuation underway, Claire and Owen must find Zach and Gray and destroy the Rex. But will our heroes make it off the island?

Where Was Jurassic World Filmed?

With a budget of $150m, a lot of prep went into creating Jurassic World. Filming locations included the islands of Kauai and Oahu in Hawaii, as did the location used for the Indominus rex enclosure.

Once the scenes in Hawaii were completed, production moved to Louisiana. That's where the Main Street and boardwalk area of the fictional Jurassic World theme park was constructed in an abandoned Six Flags New Orleans park.

NASA's Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans was also used to construct interior sets representing the Jurassic World park.

The dinosaurs were created by Lucasfilm's Industrial Light & Magic using CGI and by Legacy Effects using life-sized animatronics.

So Jurassic World was filmed in Hawaii and New Orleans!
