What Is Maze Runner About?

Waking up and remembering nothing, Thomas emerges into a world of about thirty teenage boys, all without past memories, who have survived in the Glade, knowing that a vast Maze surrounding them is the only way out.

With a new boy arriving every thirty days, the group has been there for three years, trying to find a way to escape. But the space is patrolled by cyborg monsters named ‘Grievers' who stop them from leaving.

Just as the boys are on the verge of giving up hope, a girl arrives with a strange note, and their world begins to change.

With things getting more dangerous by the day, there are those willing to risk their lives to escape and those who want to stay and survive.

How Many Maze Runner Movies Are There?

Maze Runner is a film trilogy, based on The Maze Runner novels by the American author James Dashner.

The first film, The Maze Runner, was released in 2014. The second film, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials was released in September 2015.

And the third and final movie, Maze Runner: The Death Cure, was released in January 2018.

In total, the three movies grossed $949 million at the box office and fans still can't get enough!

Where Was Maze Runner Filmed?

Filming The Maze Runner was limited to just three different locations.

The Maze set was built in a warehouse at 7685 Airline Highway in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Glade set was filmed in St. Francisville, Louisiana. And the rest of the shoot was filmed on Plantation Village Studios in Jackson, Louisiana, USA.
