Where To Watch Morbius – Is It On Disney Or Netflix??

Morbius is a 2022 superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. Produced by Columbia Pictures, it is the third film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU).

Directed by Daniel Espinosa, Morbius was written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless and stars Jared Leto as Dr. Michael Morbius.

Along with other characters such as Venom (2018), Morbius is part of the shared universe of films inspired by Spider-Man related characters.

And if you know anything about Spider-Man and the rights to it, you will know that Sony owns it, and even though it is Marvel, it is NOT on Disney+.

So if you've already seen or simply want to watch Morbius for the first time, here is where you can stream it around the world.

What Is Morbius About?

We meet Michael Morbius at a hospital in Greece when the 10-year-old welcomes his surrogate brother whom he renames Milo.

They bond over their shared blood illness and desire to be normal before their adoptive father Nicholas arranges for Morbius to attend school in New York while he focuses on caring for Milo.

25 years later and dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble for a cure. He secretly captures dozens of vampire bats hoping to splice their genes with his own to fix his condition.

But what first appears to be a success is soon revealed to be potentially worse than the disease. Because while the cure works, it transforms Morbius into a vampire.

Horrified by what has happened, Morbius returns to New York and discovers he now has superhuman strength, speed, and echolocation, with his vampire bats treating him as one of their own.

Why Is Morbius Not On Disney+?

The explanation above outlines that Sony owns Spider-Man and the characters in the SSU, including Morbius. As Sony has no working relationship with Disney, the movies cannot be streamed by them.

Instead, Sony uses other platforms to stream its content, including HBO, Sky Cinema, Netflix, and Amazon. Basically, everybody but Disney!
