What Is Sausage Party About?
The plot follows the life of a group of food items at Shopwell's grocery store who dream of one day leaving the supermarket to explore the great beyond.
The film takes a wild turn when one of the food items discovers the truth about their existence, and all hell breaks loose!
Sausage Party is packed full of comedy and outrageous adult humor that will have you laughing out loud throughout the entire movie.
So if you're looking for an irreverent take on animated films, this is definitely worth checking out!
With its great cast and hilarious plot, it is a hit with adults who want something different from the usual Disney-style animation.
Sausage Party Sequel
When asked about the possibility of a sequel, Seth Rogen stated: “It's something we talk about, yeah. That's one of the reasons why we took away the original ending because we thought, well, if that was the first scene of the next movie it's probably not what you would want it to be, with them just seeing us and finding us basically.
“But the idea of a live-action/animated movie, like a Who Framed Roger Rabbit? style hybrid, is also very exciting, mostly because Who Framed Roger Rabbit? is one of my favourite movies of all time.”
In October 2022, Sausage Party: Foodtopia, a sequel series based on the film, was greenlit by Amazon Studios to produce 8 episodes.
Scheduled for a 2024 release date, it will be directed by Conrad Vernon and produced by Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir.
The plot is still under wraps, but we do know that most of the cast will return, including Rogan, Edward Notron, Kristen Wiig, and Michael Cera.
