For a long time, most of us fans of Christmas romcoms had to scour the tv schedules to find our fix.

Hallmark is usually the main provider of all things festive, but Netflix has also gotten into the game. And so for 2022, we have Christmas With You.

What Is Christmas With You About?

It's a simple story. Angelina (Aimee Garcia, Lucifer) is a pop star whose career is on a downward trend. Knowing how popular Christmas songs are, her record label wants her to record one.

But burnt out and uninspired, she needs to change things up. That's when she sees a video of a young girl, Cristina (Deja Monique Cruz), and her father (Freddie Prinze Jr.) singing her song and decides to fulfil the girl's wish to meet her.

So off Angelina goes to grant her Christmas wish, but in true holiday romcom style, a huge snowstorm comes along, forcing her to stay in the town.

You can probably guess the rest. The family love her, she bonds with the daughter, finds her inspiration and, of course, falls in love.

But with her reality a million miles away from a small-town music teacher, is their path to happy ever after even possible?

Is Christmas With You Worth Watching?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. If you don't like romantic comedies or Christmas movies, then you won't like this.

But if, like me, you love nothing more than cosying up on a cold, dark night and embracing all that is festive, cute, and lovely, then this film is for you.

Aimee Garcia is once again completely loveable, funny, and very easy to watch.

Sure, the plot is cheesy, and I'm fairly certain we have seen the ‘pop star meets fan and falls in love' plot before. But hey, it's the holiday season, so we'll forgive the lack of imagination.

Overall, Christmas with You is exactly what you would expect from a film with that title.

We have lovely people, cute kids, a quinceanera, snow, twinkly lights, a couple of pop tunes and romance. What's not to love?
