If you're looking for your next fix of teen drama (and who isn't?), then look no further than Elite, the Netflix series set in an elite high school in Spain.
The Spanish language series follows three working-class teens who are enrolled at the school on a scholarship program and their wealthy classmates.
With its complex plotlines, diverse cast, and stunning locations, Elite is sure to become your new obsession.
What Is Elite About?
With five seasons available on Netflix and a sixth season on the way, the story of Elite goes all the way back to the first season, which aired in October 2018.
That's a lot of ground to cover, so in this article, we'll take you through season one. That way, you get a good idea of whether or not Elite is for you. And then you can dive right in!
Elite is set in Las Encinas, the most exclusive private school in Spain. The school is attended by the children of the country's richest families.
However, when their school building collapses, three working-class kids, Samuel, Nadia and Christian, are admitted to the school on a scholarship program.
The construction company responsible for the school collapsing sponsor the scholarships, and initially, the three are ostracised by the wealthy students.
The hook for the first season is that one of the students, Marina, is murdered. Through a series of flash-forward scenes, we see all of the characters' relationships in the lead-up to the murder.
So he killed Marina? Find out as our favourite Spanish students navigate love, friendships, and betrayal, in Elite.
It is award winning, scooping the GLAAD Award for Outstanding Scripted Television Series in 2019.

Is Elite Worth Watching?
Elite is a must-watch for anyone who loves teen dramas. Full of twists and turns, it is a show that will keep you hooked until the very end.
That's also probably why it got six seasons!
There are plenty of reasons to love Elite. First and foremost, the show is simply addictive. It's the kind of show that you can easily binge-watch in a few sittings because you just can't wait to see what happens next.
The plotlines are Complex with a capital C. Just when you think you have things figured out, the writers throw another twist into the mix that leaves you scrambling to piece everything together. It's drama at its finest.
In addition, Elite is also groundbreaking in its representation of minorities on television. The series features a diverse cast of characters which is refreshing to see.
On the downside, Elite is not for everybody. It is very much a teen-based drama that has a demographic. So if you hate watching people make one stupid decision after the other, this show may not be for you.
Also, while the first season was excellent, it did go downhill after the third season, and almost universally, the fourth and fifth season were not as well received.
In fact, don't get too attached to the characters as they come and go in the blink of an eye.
But if you can get over those issues and you're looking for your next binge-worthy series, check out Elite on Netflix.
Is There Going To Be A Sixth Season Of Elite?
The short answer is yes, there will be Elite Season 6.
In October 2021, Netflix officially announced the renewal of the show's sixth season.
We also know that it will air on November 18th 2022.
Where Is Elite Filmed?
Elite is filmed entirely in Spain, which makes for some seriously gorgeous locations.
From the opulent homes of the rich kids to the rougher neighbourhoods where the scholarship students live, every scene is eye candy.
The series is mostly filmed in Madrid with the European University of Madrid used for the exterior of Las Encinas high school.
