Fool Me Once follows Maya Stern who has just buried her murdered husband, that is until she sees him on the nanny cam. So is he really dead and if so - who killed him?

Harlan Coben is no stranger to Netflix, having already produced a whole raft of mega-hit shows for the streaming platform.

Apart from Shelter, which was made for Amazon Prime, they have all been excellent twisty dramas, and Fool Me Once may just be the best of them.

Starring Michelle Keegan, Richard Armitage, Adeel Akhtar and Joanna Lumley, Fool Me Once went straight into the number one spot on Netflix's top 10 around the world.

But what is it all about and is it worth watching?

What Is Fool Me Once About?

Maya Stern has just buried her murdered husband, Joe Burkett, having witnessed his assault in a park when they were out one evening.

The death of her late husband comes just six months after the murder of her sister, who was killed by an intruder in her home.

Already at rock bottom and now a single mother, she installs a secret nanny cam in her home. But shock of all shocks, when she checks the footage, there is her murdered husband, alive and well and playing with her young daughter.

Or is he? She knows Joe's murder was real, she was there. So what exactly is going on and could the same person have killed Joe and her sister?

With DS Sami Kierce trying to piece it all together while facing his own problems, things really start heating up as more and more secrets are revealed.

Can Maya figure out what exactly is going on, or will the very wealthy Burkett pharma family stop her?

Is Fool Me Once Worth Watching?

I love a good whodunnit, and Fool Me Once is right up there when it comes to plot twists.

Unlike previous Harlan Coben adaptations, Fool Me Once brilliantly ties in all of the subplots to create one huge picture of just what exactly happened in Maya Stern's life.

There are no threads left hanging, and overall, the result is a very satisfying binge. And yes, binge I did on a lazy Sunday!

Michelle Keegan pretty much carries the show, and given just how good she is, I reckon we'll be seeing a lot more of her.

But I would be remiss if I didn't mention the effortlessness with which Adeel Akhtar brought Detective Kierce to life. At times I was more invested in his story than anyone else, hoping that the earnest copper would get his happy ending.

Overall, Fool Me Once is worthy of the buzz and the eight-hour run time and is a worthy addition to the Coben collection on Netflix.
