Love At First Sight follows Hadley and Oliver who meet and fall in love on a flight to London but the chances of finding each other again seems impossible. But is it? A heartwarming and refreshing romcom.

Lift the curtain on Love at First Sight, a charming Netflix romcom inspired by Jennifer E. Smith’s enchanting 2011 novel The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight!

Board a transatlantic flight where we meet our delightful leads, Oliver and Hadley, navigating the skies and the twists of fate.

It’s a journey of cheeky conversations and twinkling eyes, as these two strangers discover there might just be something more than just friendly skies connecting them.

With laughter, whimsy, and a sprinkle of destiny, this film is ready to take you on a feel-good adventure, soaring through the clouds of possibility and into the heart of love!

What Is Love At First Sight About?

Narrated by Jameela Jamil (The Good Place), this is the story of, or should I say, the statistical probability of two strangers meeting at an airport and falling in love.

Hadley Sullivan (Haley Lu Richardson) has just missed her flight to London Stansted Airport. It's one she desperately needed to catch if she was to make it on time for her father's wedding reception.

While waiting for the next flight out she sits next to Oliver Jones (Ben Hardy), and with a little bit of back and forth banter, the two hit it off. It turns out that Ben is from London and studying in the US.

With the pleasantries out of the way, they make their flight only to discover that they are sitting next to each other for the next six and a half hours, over which time, our narrator tells us, they will fall in love.

Arriving in London, a mixup causes them to lose contact and now all they have to go on is the info they shared with each other on the place.

With Hadley at her father's wedding and Oliver meeting his family, they must now decide if they should try to find each other.

After all, they have fallen in love at first sight, but is this enough for them to take a huge leap of faith at the chance for happy ever after?

Is Love At First Sight Worth Watching?

I'm a sucker for a good romcom. The problem is that these days they are like an endangered species with most churned out being nothing more than awful formulaic fluff.

So imagine my surprise when Love At First Sight turned out to be an absolute gem.

From the off, Haley Lu Richardson is the lead we can all relate to. A little bit messy, a lot imperfect but so sincere and natural that you can't help but love her.

Her chemistry with the equally endearing Ben Hardy is a match made in plane heaven as these two have conversations that are so authentic you'd be hard-pushed to think they actually came from a script.

It's a sheer testament to the skill of director Vanessa Caswill and scriptwriter Katie Lovejoy that they could make this meet cute look so effortless.

Sure, it gets a little far fetched as Hadley tries to find Oliver in London – which only makes sense if you've ever tried to get anywhere in London in rush hour – but ultimately this is a lovely movie about the chances of finding hope and love in a chaotic and unpredictable world.

So if romantic comedies are your thing then this is the film for you.
