Great

A completely new concept for tv, Murderville introduces a brand new celebrity who must improvise their character and find the killer of each murder mystery in an otherwise scripted crime comedy. Starring Will Arnett.

I love a solid crime drama as much as the next person but every now and then I love to see a great shake-up of the genre. And that's exactly what happens in Murderville.

In case you haven't heard about it, the premise of Murderville is simple. This is a partly unscripted, yes I said unscripted, improvisational crime comedy series starring Will Arnett.

We all know and love Arnett from BoJack Horseman and Arrested Development, but here he plays eccentric Detective Terry Seattle, Homicide Division.

For Terry, every day means a new murder case and a new celebrity guest star as his partner. But here’s the catch: each of the episode's guest stars isn’t being given the script.

They have no idea what’s about to happen to them. Together, the guest star and Terry Seattle will have to improvise their way through the case in this new series on Netflix.

Each episode starts with a bit in the police station before the new detective trainee is introduced. It is so clear that they are clueless but this just adds to the fun of the whole show.

Once the murder has been announced the duo are off to the scene and have a chat with the forensics specialist who gives them clues as to who the victim died.

From there they must interview three suspects and using everything they have learned, must work out who the killer is. But it is up to each celebrity guest alone to name the killer, giving their reasons for their choice. Then they are told if they are correct or not.

Is Murderville Worthh Watching?

Yes, Murderville is worth watching purely because it is so funny. Will Arnett is a comedy genius and watching as he puts the celebrities through the ringer is hilarious.

All the guests play along and really get into the spirit of the show though I have to say that Marshawn Lynch was my personal favourite.

Murderville is comedy at its finest. Light-hearted but engaging and as we have no idea who the killer is you can also play along at home!

Murderville Celebrity Guests

The best and funniest celebs have been drafted in to help lead detective Terry Seattle solve each case. And they are Annie Murphy (Schitt's Creek), Conan O’Brien, Ken Jeong (Community), Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick), Marshawn Lynch (NFL PLayer) and Sharon Stone (Ratched).

So basically the clueless celebrity guest stars will completely improvise their way through an otherwise scripted murder mystery. How that will work is completely unknown.

But we will find on its release date which is February 3rd 2022 when Murderville streams globally on Netflix.

With six episodes, this new crime comedy will test the celebrities as they try to work through an investigation and find a killer.

Murderville Main Cast

Because Murderville is part scripted it does have its own main cast to help guide the celebrity guests.

They are…

Will Arnett as Detective Terry Seattle

Haneefah Wood as Chief Rhonda Jenkins – Seattle

Lilan Bowden as Medical Examiner Amber Kang

Phillip Smithey as Detective Darren ‘Daz' Phillips

Who Created Murderville?
