Netflix's Outer Banks takes place in North Carolina and revolves around a group of friends known as the Pogues, their ringleader John B (Chase Stokes) is searching for answers surrounding his father's disappearance.

Before John B's father went missing, he was on the hunt for a treasure known as the Royal Merchant, which is rumoured to be worth millions. John B and his friends find several clues related to his dad’s disappearance, clues that might lead them to the life-changing bounty too.


However, they're not the only ones looking for it. They must go up against a rival group called the Kooks, who will stop at nothing to find the treasure first.

The show is certainly aimed at a teen audience, but that doesn't mean it isn't enjoyable for viewers of all ages.

Outer Banks Release Date

The first season of Outer Banks was released on April 15th, 2020. The second season dropped in 2021. Both seasons contained 10 episodes and are available to stream on Netflix.

During the Netflix Global Fan Event, the cast of the upcoming season shared the first action-packed teaser. Netflix has confirmed that season 3 of their show will drop in 2023, though they have not yet announced an official release date.
