You may remember that in 2017 there was a rumour circulating about Disney developing a movie based on their theme park ride, ‘Jungle Cruise'. Well, finally, this much-anticipated movie is about to hit the big and small screens.

The movie focuses on the search for an ancient tree with healing abilities; Dr Lily Houghton and wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff team up for the adventure-of-a lifetime on Disney's ‘Jungle Cruise‘; as they race down the Amazon, avoiding danger at every turn.

The film stars Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson and Emily Blunt, Lily (Emily Blunt) travels from London to the Amazon jungle and enlists Frank's questionable services. Lily is determined to uncover an ancient tree with unparalleled healing abilities–possessing the power to change the future of medicine.

Thrust on this epic quest together, all the while, they must fight against dangerous wild animals, a hot and deadly environment, and a competing Imperial German expedition that is determined to find the tree first. It's a fun-filled ride for all the family. If you love Indiana Jones, then you're gonna love this movie too!

The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on July 30, 2021. Initially, it was slated for October 11, 2019, before being moved to July 24, 2020, and delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dwayne Johnson has been busy; lately, he has starred in ‘Jumanji: The Next Level' as Dr Xander ‘Smolder' Bravestone, Hobbs & Shaw, and ‘Fighting with My Family'. Emily Blunt has also been busy; she recently appeared in “A Quiet Place Part II” and “Mary Poppins Returns”. Emily Blunt is best known for her role in “The Girl on the Train”

Based on its trailer, Jungle Cruise shows no signs of slowing down the action or running out of adventure. The film's plot suggests that it will have a similar tone as Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. But does this guarantee that Jungle Cruise will be a hit? No! It all depends on the cast chemistry and director's style.

In my opinion, it can be a hit if you're a fan of Dwayne Johnson or Emily Blunt, but I don't think it'll be as legendary as Pirates of the Caribbean.
