Check this out – hot off the press and just released on 1st October 2018. This is the first glimpse of the biopic Rock Flick, Rocketman based on the earlier career of Elton John. Now it is hard to say a great deal about this movie as the trailer has only just been released, but in a recent interview, Taron Edgerton (who plays Elton John) suggested it is more of a Rock n Roll fantasy than a straight out biopic. This seems like a good way to put this story to the screen. His performances in the seventies became more and more elaborate with Elton wearing crazy fantasy outfits on stage.
Elton John is listed by Billboard magazine as the most successful male solo artist of all time. At his peak, he sold out stadium after stadium in the US. Few British artists have made it big in America but Elton smashed it. He had seven consecutive number one albums and has sold more than 300 Million records worldwide making him one of the biggest selling artists of all time.
There is no doubt that his career during the seventies would have been as excessive and as colourful as his stage costumes. So the new movie Rocketman is expected to be as fun as his journey was back then. Looking at the brand new teaser trailer, it seems we are going to see Captain Fantastic at his very best.
Heading up the cast is Taron Edgerton (Elton John), Richard Madden (John Reid) and Jamie Bell (Bernie Taupin). The release date for Rocketman is 31st May 2019 and it is going to be interesting watching the build-up to the Rock Flick especially if the Queen Biopic Bohemian Rhapsody also does well at the box office.
